Where am I?
Before the first session, take ten minutes to find yourself on the map. Run down the ten things this course covers, mark where you already stand on each, and the gaps become your syllabus — the weeks that will matter most for you. No studying needed; you already know most of these answers — and where you don’t, a plain “not yet” is a fine answer.
Locate yourself across the ten sessions before the course starts — mark what you already have, and name the two or three weeks that matter most for you.
You're about to start or lead the ten-week course and want each week to land where you actually need it.
How to mark it
Read each line and tick Have it, Partway, or Not yet — honestly, and without looking anything up. If you’re not sure, it’s a Not yet; if a row doesn’t apply to you — no debt, no dependents — mark Have it. Then name the two or three weeks your marks point to at the bottom.
The Foundations semester · weeks 1–6
I have a written budget that splits every paycheck into today money (there when you need it) and tomorrow money (growing for later).
I can read my pay stub and know what every deduction on it is.
I have three to six months of essential expenses saved in a separate account.
I know my employer's match formula and I'm contributing enough to get all of it — or my job has no match.
I'm putting money toward retirement every month, automatically.
I know where my next spare dollar should go before I have it.
The adult track · weeks 7–10
Any debt I carry is on a written payoff plan, ranked by interest rate.
I know which account each dollar goes into, and Roth vs. Traditional — which sets when you're taxed — was a choice I made on purpose.
I'm covered for the big risks I couldn't write a check for — and not paying for the small stuff.
I've set a giving rhythm (a regular amount I give) and named who gets what — a beneficiary form or a will.

Bring this to week one — the ten-week course is built to fill exactly these gaps, in order.
